Thank you to Mr Gibson, Mrs Collis, Mrs Howell and all the reception children for helping us all at pre school to have such a lovely fun day, I hope the children enjoyed themselves, we certainly did!
We made dragons, lanterns and cookies for our lucky envelopes and we worked together to create some big art.
The displays and photos will be up soon.
We are going to finish the week completing our Chinese new year activities, and start something new next week.
So thank you to Harry Norman and his family who have brought in some lovely photographs of a family trip to the Aquarium with pictures of some sea turtles. That's a little clue to what we are doing next week, another clue is, it will make a nice change to do a beach theme in the winter, so if you are off to the beach soon, or even this weekend (weather permitting!!!) can you bring something interesting into pre school, we will use it.

RSPB bird count
Last week the children really enjoyed making bird food, which they will all be bringing home to hang in the garden. Each child will also have a bird count sheet, do have a go at counting the birds you see, either on just one day or over the week, its up to you.
we are continuing on with our bird topic this week, with lots of different activities. Last week lots of the children contributed to the robin number line, do have a look at it, some of the children have had a go at writing their numbers too!
The children loved singing 5 cheeky robins last week, so this week we are going to sing 2 little dicky birds, with lots more verses, and make some finger puppets as props.
We are also going to be playing lots of games in the hall and obstacle courses to practice positional language such as in front, behind and next too.

Happy New Year
Welcome back to the Spring term 2014. We hope you all had a lovely Christmas holiday.
We will start this week by wishing each other a Happy new Year and talk about our family celebrations this past holiday. We will continue to talk about celebrations for the rest of the year, so if there is a family celebration you would like to share with us we would love to know.
We are also going to be thinking about birds and taking care of them in this winter weather, before the holidays some of the children made a thinking picture with lots of their own ideas about how we can help birds in the winter, we will be continuing with that and also taking part in the RSPB bird count later on in the month, more information to follow.
